Year 13 Biology pupils attended the annual field trip to Rhyd – y – Creuau field studies centre near Betws –y- coed in November. Here they improved their ecology practical skills ready for the Biology 4 examination in January. They joined forces with - a) How abiotic factors affect the growth of lichens on trees. b) b) To compare the distribution of fresh water invertebrates in a clean stream and one that was polluted. c) c) Investigate succession on the sand dunes in Harlech.
Although the weather was bracing at times, it was good to get in the fresh air and practise various sampling techniques. Well done to all the girls for their commitment and hard work during the field trip.
