Form Tutor The Form Tutor forms the basis for our system of pastoral care. Every form in the school has a Form Tutor who is responsible for the overall progress of that Form, and for the individual members' academic and pastoral progress. Meetings are held at the beginning of the academic year for Year 7 parents to enable them to meet their child's Form Tutor and that individual stays with the form for year 8 changing in year 9 to a tutor who will stay with them through year 11. The Form Tutor also plays a significant role in delivering the PSHE programme in years 7-9. Parents are encouraged to contact the Form Tutor in the first instance whenever they have a concern. Senior and Head Mistress/Master The Senior Mistress/Master has overall responsibility for years 7 - 11 and Form Tutors or Parents can refer issues on to him or her. The Head Mistress/Master fulfils the same role in respect of the sixth form. Boarding House Mistresses liaise with the appropriate individual on any House issues. The Principal The Principal maintains an ‘open door' policy to both students and parents in all matters relating to student welfare and holds regular briefing sessions with the above staff members. Reports and Assessment All students are assessed against individually set targets to ensure progress is maintained. If a Tutor has any concerns regarding a student then parents should rest assured that they will be contacted. Parents can otherwise monitor their child's progress via detailed school reports (bi-annual), grade reports (termly), and parent evenings (annual). |
