Our school walking club ventured into the Clwydian hills this week with a route up the Pen Y Cloddau mountain, only a ten minute drive from school. The walk took us around the side of the mountain firstly with breathtaking views across the Vale of Clwyd. We had a bird's eye view of Denbigh and could see the Sea in the distance! After having our picnic tea we began walking uphill to the summit, which has a bronze age burial site. When we reached the top we all placed a stone on the summit and couldn't believe our luck as the sun peeped through some parting clouds in the distant view , creating an alluring sight. From the summit we had views of the other side of the Clwydian Hills, across the Dee Estuary and beyond. Everybody had a good time and felt a real sense of achievement at the end.
There are more photographs within the gallery on this website. Take a look to see our pupils enjoying some of the beautiful North Wales views!
