Cheshire Dance will be rehearsing at Howell's School for a phenomenal performance project in 2012. Funded by local authorities and the Arts Council, Cheshire Dance has been asked to celebrate the arrival of the Olympic Torch in the North West by hosting three site-based performances across Cheshire and Warrington. They will involve a range of specialist collaborators in dance, aerial work, music, light, costume, fire and pyrotechnics, along with thousands of on and off site performers.
The Project's Co-ordinator, Becky Ankers, said, "Being such a dramatic site in itself, Howell's School and the surrounding landscapes are a perfect starting point for exploring and creating, and the whole team is really looking forward to the residential there."
Work is currently being undertaken at Howell's School to complete a new dance studio facility with mirrored walls and bamboo flooring. The studio is adjacent to the in-house recording studio so it will also have a superb sound system.
