Our aim is to enable each child to achieve his or her personal best in all areas.
The Preparatory School teaches children aged from 7 to 11 with a broad range of abilities, talents and personality. We encourage the children to discover their natural talents be they artistic, sporting, academic, musical or dramatic. We recognise that speed of progress varies from child to child and achieve our excellent results and high academic standards without undue pressure or competition. The children are taught a broad and balanced curriculum that is based upon, but goes beyond, the National Curriculum. The majority of pupils will progress, without forcing, at a faster pace than that indicated by National Curriculum Attainment Targets.English, Mathematics, Science and ICT are Foundation Subjects and accorded top priority. In addition, French, Geography, History, RE, Citizenship, PE, Art and Design, Drama and Music are taught in all years. Teaching is carried out using a combination of form and specialist subject teachers, meaning that in Years 5 and 6 in particular, children become accustomed to moving around the school for lessons.
